My 8-month experiment with questions from a neighborhood park

a few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.

Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the playlist for a while.

I tried this in Mumbai with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan

I disagree a bit. questions matters, but the bigger issue is usually expectations. The a neighborhood park detail changes the whole answer

really good advice, and it feels doable. My only addition is to make the first step visible

fair pushback

This is the kind of disagreement I like

Anecdotally, this tracks with what I have seen. A little friction removed goes a long way. The follow-through matters more then the perfect plan

could be regional too

I was going to disagree, but your second sentence got me

I would love a follow-up example

@hugomakes Thanks, that actually helped

I needed the reminder to start smaller

Excellent timing; I was just thinking about experiment. I noticed the same thing in Kuala Lumpur

helpful and not preachy, wich is rare. It sounds small, but the recipe matters

my version of this was messier, but the conclusion was similar. I would test it for 6 days before deciding

I do not have a strong take, but the park detail is useful. The ambitious constraint is probably the real story. The follow-through matters more then the perfect plan

I love this. It feels practical without pretending life is neat. This would have saved me alot of trial and error

Agree completely. The simple version is underrated. The 9-minute rule is underrated

can you share what you tried before this? I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability

I would not call it wrong, just incomplete. The low-effort version is probably the keeper

this made me smile more then expected. I would test it for 2 days before deciding. Small progress still counts

I am cheering for this update. I would love to see a follow-up after 3 weeks
