How do you make science explainers clearer without burning out?

I want to get better at understanding explainers without turning it into a second job. What helps you keep learning on busy days?

A useful way to think about it is mechanism first: what changes, what stays constant, and what evidence would distinguish the two. You will learn more from a simple version repeated three times than from a perfect plan you never start.

- Start small and make the next step obvious.
- Keep notes so you can compare what worked.
- Ask someone with recent experience, not just strong opinions.

Hope this helps!

I laughed, but you are not wrong

This reminds me of something a friend in Toronto mentioned. My only addition is to make the first step visible

Source: mostly hard-won experience and comparing notes with people who stuck with it
