Which advice about fitness habits did you end up ignoring?

I've been trying to keep the first step visible, remove one annoying decision, and appreciate the boring repetition. What advice sounded good but didn't work in real life?

I'd try a small version first. If two options look equal, pick the one that's easier to reverse. Keep notes so you have something real to compare.

anecdote beats theory here

Try it cheaply, keep notes, then decide once you've seen what happens.

What do you want to be different two weeks from now? That seems clearer than planning around an ideal future.

yep, the boring details matter

Before choosing, I'd ask one more question about what you're trying to change.

Trying to optimize before you have feedback is the trap. Start small and keep notes about what actually works.

that is fair, but I still worry about maintenance

I like this more then the top-level advice

My only addition would be to make the first step visible.

Honestly, this is a little too vague to be useful. The commute version is even more interesting

my practical advice is to make the next step tiny enough that you can do it today. Momentum usually answers half the question. I would write it down before changing anything else

I keep notes about habits so I can compare what actually worked.

I'd rather judge it on a tired weekend than on a perfect day.

I'd like to hear how the simple version works on a quiet Sunday.

glad you shared it; small wins count

I would ask what outcome you want in two weeks, not in some ideal future. That makes the choice much clearer. I noticed the same thing in Jakarta

I'd love a follow-up after eight weeks.

The two-minute rule is underrated. Small progress still counts.

A boring checklist helps me get the next step done.

I appreciate hearing about the messy middle, not just a polished ending.
