A surprisingly useful lesson from a coworking table that actually stuck
this is probably obvious to veterans here, but it clicked for me only recently. telescopes got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.
Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the recipe for a while.
A few notes from my attempt:
- keep the first step visible
- remove one annoying decision
- celebrate the boring repeat

That is a surprisingly elegant way to frame it. I used to overcomplicate this constantly

Really good advice, and it feels doable. I am curious whether rockets still feels good next month

@urban-94 That sounds great until you add children/pets/deadlines

My version of this was messier, but the conclusion was similar. The Dublin example makes it feel concrete

anecdotally, this tracks with what I have seen. The Kuala Lumpur example makes it feel concrete. The scale of it still melts my brain a little

I agree with the goal and disagree with the method. The the corner shop detail changes the whole answer

Interesting. I would like to see how it changes after 3 months. The 2-minute rule is underrated

I had a similar experience, but my problem was consistency rather than motivation. My only addition is to make the first step visible
