Learning about houseplants one try at a time

I'm no expert, but I'm trying to make houseplants feel less intimidating. A few things helped: keep the first step visible, remove one annoying decision, and celebrate the boring repeat. Soil got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.
