What wins looks like when you stop optimizing everything after a tiny failure
> Tiny progress is still progress.
That line sounds cheesy, but it got me through the part where community stopped feeling new.
I tried this in Lisbon with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more than the perfect plan.
Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the conversation for a while.
I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions

I am saving this for the next time I overthink stop. I learned that one the expensive way. Small progress still counts

the conclusion is too broad, but the example is interesting. I would test it for 7 days before deciding. I needed this reminder today

Great point, especially the part about failure. This pairs weirdly well with ramen

Agree completely. The simple version is underrated. The first week version is even more interesting

Maybe but the tradeoff seems bigger than the post suggests. The low-effort version is probably the keeper

I am cheering for this update. I would love to see a follow-up after 4 weeks

this is useful for some cases, but terrible advice if the stakes are high. My only addition is to make the first step visible

Wonderful detail. It makes the whole thing feel real. It reminds me of a very specific conversation near my desk

The vibe here is immaculate. For me it came down to the routine

I like the idea, but the setup probably matters a lot. My only addition is to make the first step visible. The follow-through matters more than the perfect plan

I am mostly here for the follow-up. I would write it down before changing anything else

I do not have a strong take, but the looks detail is useful. I noticed the same thing in Madrid

This has cozy competence written all over it. I would write it down before changing anything else

I love this. It feels practical without pretending life is neat. This is more useful on a tired rainy evening than on a perfect day

This is adorable and oddly motivating. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability

This is the kind of useful internet I still show up for. The rainy evening version is even more interesting

What happened after the first week? I am curious whether optimizing stayed easy. That is where the boring checklist helps. I needed this reminder today

good clarification — I read it differently at first
