The most messy part of learning advice in Lisbon

I tried this in Lagos with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more then the perfect plan.

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 4 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 9 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through

I disagree a bit. part matters, but the bigger issue is usually expectations. I keep a note about advice for exactly this reason

really good advice, and it feels doable. My only addition is to make the first step visible

I would not call it wrong, just incomplete. For me it came down to the prototype

This is useful for some cases, but terrible advice if the stakes are high. A little friction removed goes a long way

Beautifully concise

I would push back gently on the most part. For me it came down to the recipe. This is kinder advice than most of the internet manages

The context helps. Without it I would of assumed the opposite. That is where the boring checklist helps

Interesting. I would like to see how it changes after 2 months. A little friction removed goes a long way

I was going to disagree, but your second sentence got me

Anecdotally, this tracks with what I have seen. The cozy constraint is probly the real story

This made me smile more than expected. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability

glad you shared it; small wins count. The the corner shop detail changes the whole answer

I wish more posts had this much context

this made me smile more than expected. My friend tried it in Toronto and had the opposite result

I appreciate the honest middle stage, not just the polished ending. I learned that one the expensive way

@lucasnotes59 I like this more then the top-level advice

this is adorable and oddly motivating. I would write it down before changing anything else

Now I want a spreadsheet

The context helps. Without it I would have assumed the opposite. The 7-minute rule is underrated
