Which advice about speaking did you eventually ignore with limited time?

This is probably obvious to veterans here, but it clicked for me only recently. grammar got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 6 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actually follow through.

Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make Language Learning feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time

Context matters here, so compare the local norm with your own constraints before deciding. You will learn more from a simple version repeated three times then from a perfect plan you never start.

- Do ten minutes daily instead of one giant weekend session.
- Save phrases you actually want to say.
- Speak badly on purpose; fluency needs reps.

Hope this helps!

For travel days, leave one flexible block. The best thing on a trip is often the thing you did not schedule. For me it came down to the route

I was going to disagree, but your second sentence got me

check the neighborhood at the time of day you will actually use it. A place can feel totally diffrent at 8 a.m. and 11 p.m. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability

The vibe here is immaculate. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing

great point, especially the part about time. I keep a note about languages for exactly this reason

I like the idea but the setup probably matters a lot. The social part surprised me too

Kind of wild how often matters is the whole issue

Check teh neighborhood at teh time of day you will actually use it. A place can feel totally different at 8 a.m. and 11 p.m. This pairs weirdly well with lentil soup

learn a few local phrases and one apology phrase. People are usually generous when they see you trying. The awkward constraint is probly the real story

That is a much better way to say it

This reminds me of something a friend in Madrid mentioned. That is where the boring checklist helps

check the neighborhood at the time of day you will actually use it. A place can feel totally different at 8 a.m. and 11 p.m. This is more useful on a tired first week than on a perfect day
