A surprisingly useful lesson from my desk in Cairo

I had a disappointing first try, a surprisingly good second try, and then a third attempt that taught me humility. So, naturally, I now have opinions.

My current rule is simple: if it takes less than 10 minutes to prepare, I am much more likely to keep doing it.

The detail that surprised me was how much the library changed the outcome. Same plan, different setting, completely different energy.

I started this because my late summer felt a little stuck, and questions seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept

That last line is excellent. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability

I get the appeal, though I would be careful calling it the best option. The delightful part is easy to underestimate

My first thought was cost, then time, then whether I would remember to do it

Helpful and not preachy, which is rare. The Warsaw example makes it feel concrete

This reminds me of something a friend in Cape Town mentioned. For me it came down to the setup
