Explain Like I'm Five · by Sofía Hernández · 2026-10-02

What I wish I knew before trying explainers in Manila

would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about teh version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.

I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 3 attempts teh pattern is pretty clear. When I keep teh setup simple, I actually follow through.

This is probably obvious to veterans here, but it clicked for me only recently. simple got easier when I stopped treating every attempt like a final exam.

> Tiny progress is still progress.

That line sounds cheesy, but it got me through teh part where questions stopped feeling new

I think the bad version of this advice causes a lot of frustration. The messy part is easy to underestimate

I had a similar experience, but my problem was consistency rather than motivation

I am skeptical. The idea sounds good, but the maintenance cost is real. The social part surprised me too

I am cheering for this update. For me it came down to the playlist. I needed this reminder today

can you share what you tried before this? I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability
