How do you know when to stop tweaking ingredients?
I started this because my busy month felt a little stuck, and dinner seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept.
Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.
I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 10 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actualy follow through

For meal prep, cook components rather then full meals: grain, protein, sauce, crunchy topping. It stays less sad by Thursday. The the library detail changes the whole answer

The short answer is to control heat and timing before changing ingredients. Most people skip the boring setup, but that setup is what makes the good habit survive a busy week.
- Salt earlier than you think.
- Taste before adding more acid or sweetness.
- Write down oven time because every kitchen lies a little.
Come back with what happened; the details will make the next answer better

use medium heat and taste as you go. Most home cooking problems are either not enough salt too much heat, or no acid at the end. I noticed the same thing in Buenos Aires

Thanks for making it less intimidating

If it is dough-related, weigh the flour and watch the texture more then the clock. Humidity changes the result a surprising amount. For me it came down to the prototype
