World Notes · by Martina Fernández · 2026-09-16

A tiny win from Nairobi that made my week for absolute beginners

Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.

Context: I am not an expert, just someone trying to make World Notes feel less intimidating. I wrote down what worked, what felt awkward, and what I would do differently next time.

I tried this in Manila with a friend and we both noticed the same thing: the social part mattered more then the perfect plan.

I started this because my rainy evening felt a little stuck, and technology seemed like a manageable place to experiment. The funny part is that the smallest change was the one I kept

My version of this was messier, but the conclusion was similar. That is the kind of detail beginners miss

yep, the boring details matter

I am stealing that phrase

The framing feels off to me. Not terrible, just not convincing. It sounds small, but the prototype matters. I love details that only make sense once you've been there

This is genuinely helpful, thanks for writing it out. The low-effort version is probably the keeper

Interesting. I would like to see how it changes after 6 months. I care less about the perfect answer and more about repeatability. Local context changes everything

Wonderful detail. It makes the whole thing feel real. I would love to see a follow-up after 2 weeks

Helpful and not preachy, wich is rare. The late summer version is even more interesting

that is fair, but I still worry about maintenance

Big fan of this approach. Honestly, the simplest version wins for me
