Can we talk about the underrated side of people before coffee
I know this is a tiny sample size, but after 2 attempts the pattern is pretty clear. When I keep the setup simple, I actualy follow through.
Would love to hear how other people handle this. I am especially curious about the version that works on a tired weekday, not just on an ideal Sunday.
Part of me wanted the fancy version with all the tools. The better version was boring: one notebook, one reminder, and a willingness to be clumsy with the first draft for a while

I am saving this for the next time I overthink talk. This is more useful on a tired Monday morning than on a perfect day

That is a much better way to say it

@quiet_cozy68 I like this more than the top-level advice

big fan of this approach. Glad you shared the messy version too

can you share what you tried before this? That is where teh boring checklist helps

This is the kind of useful internet I still show up for. For me it came down to the first draft. The follow-through matters more than the perfect plan

this sounds sensible, though I would need to test it myself. This is more useful on a tired late summer than on a perfect day

The context helps. Without it I would have assumed the opposite. My only addition is to make the first step visible

Honestly, great taste. The ambitious part is easy to underestimate

Helpful and not preachy, wich is rare. That is where the boring checklist helps

This has cozy competence written all over it. The a trailhead detail changes the whole answer

that is a good question for people with more experience than me. That is the kind of detail beginners miss

this depends heavily on budget, time and personality. I learned that one the expensive way

yep, the boring details matter

Agree completely. The simple version is underrated. I am curious whether advice still feels good next month

I get the appeal, though I would be careful calling it the best option. This is where I would ask one more question before choosing. Glad you shared the messy version too

You explained teh tradeoff really clearly. I keep a note about advice for exactly this reason

@ethancodes The best answer in the thread, honestly

Interesting. I would like to see how it changes after 4 months. The delightful constraint is probly the real story

Amazing how much difference one small change can make. It sounds small, but the first draft matters

Excellent timing; I was just thinking about talk. My friend tried it in Mumbai and had the opposite result

I like this more then the top-level advice

I appreciate the honest middle stage, not just the polished ending. It sounds small, but the routine matters. The follow-through matters more then the perfect plan

do you think this would work in a smaller place than Nairobi? I noticed the same thing in Cairo
Aisha Jacobs · 3 likes
Really good advice, and it feels doable

Not wrong, but I think this underestimates how different people's constraints are. It reminds me of a very specific conversation near the kitchen. This is kinder advice then most of the internet manages

I like the idea but the setup probably matters a lot. The social part surprised me too

There is a hidden assumption here that not everyone shares. The rainy evening version is even more interesting. This is kinder advice than most of the internet manages
