Lick mats with peanut butter during the worst of it. licking is calming for them

the labrador brain has one setting: snack

let her hide behind the sofa if that's her safe spot. forcing them out can make it worse

yep, just make the hiding spot comfier

If it's really bad, talk to your vet. there are meds for storm anxiety and they can be a kindness

agreed, no shame in it. our vet sorted us out before bonfire night too

We made a den. crate with a blanket over it in the quietest room, she goes there on her own now

covered crate is a game changer

ours is under the stairs, best spot in the house apparently

White noise or the TV turned up a bit helps mask the gusts

we use brown noise, works better than white for us

Thundershirt helped a little for mine. not magic but took the edge off

Close the curtains too. flashes and moving trees outside can freak them out as much as the noise

never thought of the trees, ours does stare out the window during storms
