Capybara pups at a Manx zoo are pulling in record crowds

bbc.co.uk

Apparently capybara pups at a zoo on the Isle of Man have been drawing record crowds. Honestly I get it, capybaras have this calm, unbothered energy that people seem to love right now. I'm curious whether this kind of baby animal boom actually helps zoos long term or if it's just a short spike. Anyone been to see them?

Baby animals are how small zoos survive honestly. a good season can fund a lot of conservation work

as long as the money actually goes there, which at decent zoos it does

Fun thing about capybaras is how other animals just chill around them. like nature's beanbag

I do hope the crowds are managed well. young animals and huge crowds dont always mix

good zoos usually limit viewing times for that reason, hopefully this one does too

record crowds for a small island zoo could still be a modest number, but good for them
