Married couples: what's one small habit that genuinely made your marriage better?

Not looking for grand romantic gestures, more curious about tiny boring daily/weekly habits that quietly made things smoother. We started doing a 15 minute 'logistics check-in' every Sunday night just for calendar/money/chores stuff so those topics stop ambushing us during random weeknight dinners, and it's helped more than I expected. What's yours?

we do the same sunday check in, game changer for not having money talks turn into fights at 11pm on a tuesday

my wife and i started saying the actual thing we need instead of hinting and hoping the other person reads our mind, sounds obvious but took us years to learn lol

a 10 second genuine hug/kiss when one of us gets home from work, sounds cheesy but it resets the whole evening somehow

not cheesy at all, small physical connection rituals are actually backed by alot of relationship research

we have a rule, no big decisions discussed after 9pm when were both tired and irritable, saved us so many pointless arguments

separate but equal 'mental load' lists reviewed monthly, helped me realize i was unknowingly dumping alot on my partner

this is gonna sound boring but seperate bathrooms sinks changed our mornings completely lol, petty stuff matters more than people admit

we text each other one thing we appreciated about the other that day, even on bad days. forces you to notice the good stuff

honestly just going to bed angry sometimes is fine, the advice to never do that caused more sleepless fights in my marriage than it solved
