if you were starting over today from zero, what would your first 30 days look like?

Great question! In the early days, the hardest part was honestly psychological: overcoming the feeling that everyone else had it figured out while I was improvising. What changed everything was setting a rule to ship tiny, imperfect iterations every single week rather than waiting for a masterpiece

If I had to start over from scratch today, I would spend 80% of my time mastering the boring fundamentals. People always chase the latest shiny framework or trend, but the fundamentals haven't changed in 30 years and give you compound leverage

What is a common myth or piece of popular advice in your field that you completely disagree with? Honestly, the simplest version wins for me

Early on, I accidentally deleted a staging database right before a demo. It forced us to write automated idempotent recovery scripts that ended up saving our production cluster months later!
