dividend ETF or accumulating ETF if you just want simplicity?

i'm in Germany and keep going in circles. The cash payout from dividend ETFs feels motivating because I can see it. But the accumulating version seems cleaner and less tempting for me to meddle with.

If your goal is just long-term building and not 'income now', what made you choose one over the other?

There isn't one moral answer here. One is better for behavior, one is better for your dopamine, sometimes those are different

Yeah, being 'informed' can turn into being rattled really fast

Yep. if I can explain it calmly, I usually stick with it better.

Dividends felt better psychologically for my first year. Seeing 9 euros hit the account kept me engaged. Mathematically it wasn't magic.

I wish someone had told me that before I built my little museum of ETFs.

Check how your broker handles automatic reinvestment too. Some make small dividends useless with extra fees.

Right, and panic hates written rules for some reason.

I picked accumulating because I know myself. If cash lands in the account I'll start thinking it's free money for shoes or dumplings.

There it is. comfort and correctness overlap more then finance people admit

Same. once the admin got messy, the strategy stopped feeling clever.

I switched from dividend chasing to broad accumulating funds after I realized I was celebrating tiny payouts while ignoring total return
